Keep Pests out of your home this winter!

As the months keep getting colder, you might begin to notice less rodent activity around your home or office. In truth, just because we don’t see or hear them, doesn’t mean we should stop protecting our homes from various pests and invaders. Here are some winter pest control tips to ensure your home is safe this season!

  1. Seal your chimney from above and make sure your screens and vents are closed tight.
  2. Ensure that all food is safely stored in an air-tight container.
  3. Store firewood 20 feet or more away from your home.
  4. Make sure to keep your office, attic, basement or crawl spaces well-ventilated and dry.

Mice, rats and even squirrels who make it into your home can be highly dangerous. These rodents can directly contaminate a person or space through their droppings — causing serious damage. Don’t forget, that during these frosty months, mice, squirrels, and other critters only require an absolutely minuscule opening to sneak into your attic, garage, or basement and make it their new home.

You might not realize it, but pests are still active throughout the winter months. Pests aren’t just an annoyance; they present legitimate hazard. Not only have rats and mice moved inside seeking warmth, but the standard indoor gang of usual pests, including spiders and ants will continue to be active as well. Make sure you take these preventative measures today, so that your holiday season is pest-free!
